The Lighthouse
A visit to this hidden Irish gem is a must it is an ideal day trip Wexford and indeed Waterford.  This Irish lighthouse sits at the top of breathtaking Hook Head, rich in history, character and natural beauty. The Lighthouse is located in the south-western corner of county Wexford, forms the eastern boundary of the great estuary known as Waterford Harbour. The headland is sometimes called a peninsula which means “almost an island”. The bedrock consists of two types of sedimentary rock: old red sandstone and limestone.
Opening Times
June/July/August 9.30am to 6pm
May/September 9.30am to 5.30pm
Rest of year 9.30am to 5pm
Access to the Lighthouse is by guided tour only.
June/July/August – Every half hour from 10am to 5.30pm
Rest of Year – Every hour on the hour from 10am to 5pm
